Women, Infants & Children (WIC)
Background
The WIC Program provides supplemental nutrition, breastfeed information and other resources for pregnant, breastfeeding or postpartum women, infants and children up to age 5 who have a medical or nutritional need. The WIC program focuses on good nutrition and other preventative health issues. WIC provides:
- Nutrition Services Resources:
- Nutrition education - healthy recipes and more, from the Kansas WIC website.
- Helpful links and resources from the Kansas WIC website.
- Other Services:
- Help with breastfeeding
- Referrals for healthcare
- Referrals for immunizations
- Referrals to other community resources
Eligibility Requirements:
- Resident of the state of Kansas.
- Pregnant or breastfeeding women, infants and children up to age 5 who are at nutritional risk.
- Meet income guidelines outlined on the document, Kansas WIC Program Income Guidelines (PDF).
