Clay Center’s Carnegie Library, for example, has a 40,000-book catalog, maintains over 90 magazine subscriptions and is part of a 12-county library collaborative that shares books and resources. For flight enthusiasts, the Clay Center Municipal Airport lies just two miles west of Clay Center and is open to the public. Locally owned and operated, the Clay Center Municipal Airport has provided fuel, fun and a place for passers-through to rest their wings for over 60 years.

Continuing Education

In addition, the county lies within 25 miles of the Manhattan Area Technical College, Kansas State University and Cloud County Community College, providing easy access to a wealth of continuing education possibilities.

The Clay Center Dispatch, Clay County’s local newspaper, is published Monday through Friday and covers a wide range of local and national news. Clay County is home to two radio stations, KCLY “The Lynx” 100.9 FM and KFRM “The Voice of the Plains” 550 AM. The Lynx 100.9 FM provides original talk shows, great sports coverage, the latest news, and music everyone can enjoy. The Voice of the Plains 550 a.m. gives listeners the best in agricultural trends and weather developments, as well as sports and news coverage.
