County Clerk

Overview

The County Clerk is an elected position. The Clerk's Office provides a wide range of services to the County and citizens. The County Clerk also works closely with the Board of County Commissioners and records minutes of the meetings.

  • Annual Mill Levy Sheets
  • Certified Population Figures for Clay County
  • Issues moving permits for houses
  • Commissioner Districts (PDF)
  • Maintaining election records and proceedings including: candidate fillings, voter registration, ballot preparation and election worker training 
  • Our office offers a wide variety of real estate information
  • Maintains records for Vital Statistics research
  • Sells most licenses and permits offered by Kansas Wildlife, Parks and Tourism
  • The County Clerk's Office reviews all budgets for legal limits and sets levies for:
    • The County
    • County Rural Highway
    • 8 Cities
    • 7 Fire Districts
    • 31 Cemetery Districts
    • 1 Hospital District
    • 1 Drainage District
    • 1 School District

Location

The Clay County Clerk’s Office is located on the first floor of the courthouse.
