DID YOU KNOW Clay Center Lodge #134 is trying to raise money to purchase 1 or 2 computers for the lodge for the Kansas Child Identification Program that is offered free to parents? The cost of the computers and software is $3,000 each. They are being asked by various groups to provide these ID programs, but they are currently renting the computers from other lodges. It takes about 6-10 months advance notice to ensure the rental of a computer. This is a very good program that is Amber Alert friendly, has digital fingerprints, photo and a short movie clip with an interview with the child, which is about the same question that would be asked by a police office to the child. It is a good time to allow the parent to record all health concerns and birth marks or scars that can help the child if they become lost. The only record of what is inputted on the child is what is burned on a CD and given to the parent at the time they are doing the event. The information is not stored on any hard drive. The information is not transmitted to any official as most people think. If interested in helping out on this or interested in an event, please contact Jeff at 447-0521. There is no age limit. This is a good program for any one that is at risk of being lost no matter the age. The lodge is currently selling pies to raise money. Contact Jeff at 447-0521 for more details.
