Commissioner Spicer, Commissioner Mayo, and Commissioner Thurlow were present at a regular meeting beginning at 8:30 a.m. The minutes were approved as printed.
Vernon McGee, McGee Roofing, met with the Board to present several roof proposals for the County Buildings.
Bob Heilman, Heilman Insurance, met with the Board to review the coverage on the Counties
property and liability insurance policies. A few changes will be made to the current policies.
Denny Geist, met with the Board to discuss the tornado siren that he has invented. Also present were Harold & Edna Hundley and Ray & Susan Hundley representing the City of Oak Hill, Chuck Dunn, Sheriff and Pam Kemp, EMS Director. After much discussion and questions answered, Mr. Geist agreed to meet with the City of Oak Hill at their next Council meeting which will be on June 12th.
Chuck Dunn, Sheriff, met with the Board to give his weekly report.
Rick James, County Attorney, Delmar Yarrow, and George and Sarah Sanneman, met with the Board to discuss some concerns that happened with a controlled burn located by Idana.
Steve Liby, Highway Administrator, met with the Board. The cost for sealing chips to do 45 miles of roads will be $111,000. The Board granted permission to purchase and to start hauling the chips. Mr. Liby reported that bids will be taken for road oil. The bids will include 265,000 gallons for sealing and 200,000 gallons for asphalt. The bridges that are currently in the Counties five year bridge plan were reviewed.
