Commissioner Spicer and Commissioner Mayo were present for a regular meeting beginning at 8:30 a.m. Minutes were approved as printed and payroll in the amount of $138,199.10 was reviewed and approved. A bill in the amount of $16 was reviewed and approved.
Arnie Knoettgen, County Maintenance, met with the Board to discuss the sprinkler system and the lawn maintenance. The Board gave permission to fertilize and treat the all lawns of all County properties.
Richard Clinesmith, Employers Unity, met with the Board to discuss Unemployment Insurance for the County. Mr. Clinesmith left information with the Commissioners for study and will call at a later date for a decision.
Chuck Dunn, Sheriff, met with the Board. Vehicle repairs were discussed. The Board agreed with the idea of possibly moving the radio and phone equipment away from the water source in the basement of the Law Enforcement Center. The burn ban was also discussed and if not enough moisture is received soon the burn ban will go to a no burn at all period.
The Chairman signed a KDHE State Funded Grant application for the Health Dept.
Steve Liby, Highway Administrator, met with the Board. The department is removing trees and branches off roadways due to the wind. Ditch cleaning and the hauling of sand were discussed. Mr. Liby and Commissioner Thurlow will be attending the District Meeting in Salina on April 1st.
The Board adjourned at 11:20 a.m.
