2010 Census

The 2010 Census is quickly approaching and your help is needed. Census Counts affect Federal Grant Funding, which helps fund various State and Federal programs. Please do your part, and complete the Census information to benefit Clay County and the State of Kansas. Census questionnaires will be mailed or delivered to households in February and March 2010. Please complete the short questionnaire and return it by April 1. The information is important. Businesses use demographic and economic census data to locate retail stores, new housing and other facilities!

Dexter Park Playground Equipment

Clay Center Rotary Club is heading up a project to get new playground equipment in Dexter Park. The Dexter Park Playground Equipment fundraiser has already raised nearly $18,000 towards new playground equipment but has a long way to go. Please check out the website at http://ccplayground.homestead.com/index.html At this point, we are actively soliciting funds and volunteers for the project!! You can find donation forms and volunteer forms on the website. Tax deductible donations can be made to CCCIF (memo Dexter Playground Project) and can be delivered to the Information Center (517 Court), Clay Center Improvement Foundation (432 Court), or Citizens National Bank. We need to raise a total of $175,000. If any service organizations or individuals would like to host a fundraising project, please contact Jami Williams 632-5974 or respond to this email. Your support of this project and of Clay County Youth is appreciated!

Playground Committee Pickets for Sale

The Dexter Park Playground Committee is selling pickets for the playground projects. The pickets will make up a fenced in area around the playground equipment. The pickets cost $50 and can be personalized with up to 18 characters per picket. The pickets are made of a plastic composite type material that should last a lifetime! If you would like to purchase a picket to support this community wide project, please stop by the Information Center at 517 Court. (A sample of the picket is on display at the Information Center!)
