Spring Forward for Daylight Savings Time this weekend. We will lose an hour of sleep this weekend with the time change. Don’t forget to set your clocks forward an hour Saturday evening.
Fundraiser for Neva Jensen

There will be a fundraiser for Neva Jensen. Neva is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer. A fundraiser will be held at Ray’s Apple Market on Thursday, March 11 and Friday, March 12 from 11AM – 7PM and on Saturday, March 13 from 11AM – 2PM. Bratwursts (brats) will be served for $2 each and Thrivent Financial for Lutheran, Republican River Chapter #30307 will match up to $500. Depending on the scheduling for the NCAA basketball tournament, there may be an on-air auction on Friday, March 19th.

Soon, Derek is inspired to rekindle his youthful dreams. Ashley Judd portrays his love interest, Carly, in this family comedy starring The Rock aka Dwayne Johnson. Dear John, dated PG-13 will show Friday, Saturday and Sundat at 7:30 PM. While on leave, U.S. soldier John Tyree (Channing Tatum) falls for Southern college student Savannah (Amanda Seyfried), whose ideals and heartfelt principles are at once attractive and unfamiliar. But their love is put on hold when terrorist attacks prompt John to reenlist. Now, handwritten letters hold the lovers together. Lasse Hallstrom directs this modern romance based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks. Stop by the Rex and enjoy popcorn and movie – where ticket prices are always a low $5 per person.

Controlled Burns

Contact the Sheriff’s office before burning. As the area starts to get into the season for burning pastures, Sheriff Chuck Dunn reminds all who plan to do a controlled burn to contact the Sheriff’s Department at 632-5601 and notify before burning. Notification is required by ordinance and prevents law enforcement from sending out firefighters and emergency responders when they are not needed.
