55th Annual PRCA Longford Rodeo is next month. Mark your calendars for the Longford Rodeo on Friday, September 3 and Saturday, September 4th. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children.

Movies at the Rex

The Rex Theatre will be showing two movies this weekend. Showing is Charlie St. Cloud Rated PG-13 at 7:30PM on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Ben Sherwood’s intriguing novel is the basis of this ghost story about Charlie (Zac Efron), who is devoted to his brother, Sam, even after Sam’s death. As the caretaker of the cemetery where Sam is buried, Charlie has lots of time to commune with the dead. Sam visits frequently to hang out with Charlie, but when Charlie meets a mysterious young woman (Amanda Crew), he must decide whether to move forward or remain trapped in the past. Eat, Pray, Love PG-13 at 7:30PM Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Julia Roberts stars in the adaptation of Elizabeth Gilbert’s best-selling memoir about coping with a traumatic divorce. After deciding to reshape her life, Elizabeth (Julia Roberts) travels the world in search of direction. She heads to Italy, India and Indonesia seeking the perfect pasta, a route to self-enlightenment and the true meaning of faith. Along the way, she meets a bevy of odd characters and, possibly, her true love.

Wakefield Town Fest

On September 18, Wakefield Town Fest begins at 7:00AM wiht the 10K Run, followed by COED Softball at 8:00AM. At 9:00AM there will be 3 on 3 basketball games and later in the day around 4:00PM lots of free games for kids!! There will be a free BB Gun Shoot by the VFW 7774 from 4:00PM-7:00PM and a live band playing from 4:30PM-8:30PM.. From 5:00PM-7:00PM is the free community hog roast and the museum will be selling pie and ice cream!!
