NEW ITEMS for September:

DID YOU KNOW there will be a fundraiser for Paulette Hood? In May of 2011, Paulette was carrying a box down her basement stairs, slipped, and fell.  Doctors determined she had broken her right hip.  She was transferred to Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan where she underwent surgery to repair the broken hip.  Two and a half months later, it was determined that the hip was not healing, and that a hip replacement surgery was necessary.  In July, Paulette underwent a second surgery where the hip was replaced.  She is now in the rehabilitation phase, and doing well. Paulette has two children, Jayson Hood and Georgia Hood of Clay Center, and 4 four grandchildren; Caitlyn, Emily, and Lucas Hood and Jaydin Wells. An on-air auction has been planned on KCLY 100.9 FM on Friday, September 16, 2011 beginning at 1:00 p.m.  The Piotique Quilters Guild made and donated many beautiful items for Paulette’s auction.  These items are on display in the window at Republican Valley Title, 707 5th Street, Clay Center, Ks  67432.  Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Republican River Chapter #30307 is graciously donating $250 in matching funds for this auction, as well. Anyone wishing to make a donation to Paulette is encouraged to send it to:  Paulette Hood, %Clay County National Bank, P. O. Box 260, Clay Center, Ks  67432-0260.  While Paulette does have insurance, there are many things that are not covered, and she has missed quite a number of days of work.  Please keep Paulette in your prayers as she continues with her healing process.  Thanking you in advance for your participation in this fundraiser.
