DID YOU KNOW In the Lobby at United Bank & Trust is a Digital Art display by local Artist, Floyd Hansford? Floyd is employed as an Illustrator for the Dept. of Army at Fort Riley. He has had a longtime interest in this form of art and over the past eight years has focused to make digital paintings as realistic as possible. Floyd starts with one or more photographs and studies them and picks the areas he wants to recreate. He uses Adobe Illustrator software on the computer to draw the image. A computer monitor allows him to draw right on the screen. He first draws around the shape where the color goes and then applies the color or colors that he feels are right, this takes a lot of time. Each painting that is on display is entirely drawn by his hands and colors apply using his eyes to get the finished look. Although they look like photographs, they are in fact paintings. Most involve over 100 or more hours to create. The public is invited to stop by United Bank & Trust during bank hours 8:30AM to 4:00PM Monday through Friday, until February 18th.
