NEW ITEMS for November/December:

DID YOU KNOW Marcine Sterba lives in Clifton, is retired, and living on a fixed income.  She has had various health problems starting with a mild heart attack in July.  After a 911 call on July 29, EMS took her to the hospital where she stayed for the next four days.  At that time, the doctor ran some tests, and also found two spots on her face.  The spots were taken off by Dr. Butt in September, and it was determined that they were cancerous.  Marcine is not sure at this time what other treatments she may have to undergo.  She has been fighting this type of cancer for several years now, and usually has a recurrence every five years.  However, last October, she also had to have a spot removed, and is wondering now if they will be appearing more often. Marcine lives with her brother, Daryl, who was unemployed for awhile, but is now working again.  She has no insurance benefits, so is struggling to make ends meet with the recent medical bills she has encountered. A fundraiser will be held at Ray’s Apple Market on Thursday, Dec. 2, Friday, Dec. 3 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday, Dec. 4 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  We will be selling hamburgers for $2.00 each.  There will also be an on-air auction on 100.9 FM KCLY on Thursday, Dec. 2 beginning at 1:00 p.m.  Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Republican River Chapter #30307 is graciously providing $500 in matching funds for this event.  All funds received for this will be used for medical and living expenses.  Anyone wishing to make a donation to help Marcine can do so by sending it to:  Marcine Sterba, %Kaw Valley State Bank of Clifton, P. O. Box 189, Clifton, Ks  66937-0189.  Anyone wishing to help with this fundraiser, or donate an item to the auction is encouraged to call Linda Underwood at 785-632-0369 (cell) or 785-632-6233 (home).  Please keep Marcine in your prayers as she continues to struggle with her health and give this fundraiser your prayerful consideration.  Thanking you in advance for your participation.
