DID YOU KNOW St. Paul Lutheran Bazaar and Soup Supper will be held on Thursday, Dec. 1? The bazaar & food sale will be from 11:00AM to 7:00 PM--use the front entrance to the church. The soup supper will be held from 5-7 PM and will serve Vegetable and Chicken noodle (homemade noodles) soups, chilliburgers, relishes, pie and drinks for a free will donation. The church is located @ 9th & Dexter in Clay Center. DID YOU KNOW Pinsetters has a Family 4-Pack special? You can treat your family to a fun night out for only $45.00. DID YOU KNOW Volunteers for the Friends of the Clay Center Library are baking up all sorts of delicious treats in preparation for their 4th Annual Holiday Cookie & Candy Sale on Saturday, December 3rd from 9:30 AM until 12:30PM at the Clay Center Carnegie Library community room. Homemade goodies will be sold for $5.00 per pound with all proceeds benefiting the Friends organization. This irresistible fundraiser is to raise money for ongoing library needs including children’s and adult programming, updating equipment and furnishings, and enhancing the library’s collection."
DID YOU KNOW Wakefield Museum’s annual Christmas Bazaar is Saturday, December 3, 9:00AM – 4:00PM. The event features door prizes, raffle drawings, good homemade soups and baked goods for eating in or taking out, and a large craft show and white elephant sale. DID YOU KNOW Pilot Club of Clay Center still has cheese balls for sale? They are $6 each and are covered with pecans. The proceeds of the sales go toward the local projects of Pilot Club. DID YOU KNOW The Clay County Medical Center’s Breastfeeding Education class will be on Monday, December 5 from 7:00PM – 9:00PM. in the education centers. The breastfeeding education class is a 2-3 hour class, one night only. It is free of charge for all CCFP and Special Delivery patients. Any patient not being served by CCFP or Special Delivery will be charged $10. This class is open to all mothers and family members who wish to learn more about breastfeeding. DID YOU KNOW The Clay County Medical Center’s Lunch Bunch will meet on Wednesday, December 14 at noon in the hospitals education centers. We will be entertained by Clay Center Community High School’s Tiger Chorale. Lunch will start at 11:45 instead of at noon due to the large crowd we are expecting. Lunch is $5 and reservations are required by calling the Mark A. Chapman Wellness Center at 785-632-2144, ext. 427. DID YOU KNOW Incentives are available to qualified businesses based on the location of the facility, type of facility (manufacturing or non-manufacturing), capital investment made, and number of jobs created. Some of these incentives expire December 31st, 2011. If you are planning to expand your facility or purchase equipment that will create new jobs call the Clay County Economic Development office at 632-5974. Republican Valley Produce (RVP) is an online Farmers Market, the first of its kind in Clay Center. We offer fresh homegrown produce, meats, baked goods and jams and jellies. RVP is a group of farmers who are reaching out to those too busy to visit a Farmers Market or those who just like to sleep in on Saturdays. You can order what you want and pick-up your items on Tuesday evenings in Clay Center or Wednesday evenings in Manhattan. We sell winter hardy produce every week until Christmas and then every two weeks until May.
