DID YOU KNOW The Clay County Economic Development Group is hosting several workshops in the next couple of months related to business transition, finance, and marketing. To learn more about any of these workshops call the Economic Development Group’s office at 632-5974 or stop by their office at 517 Court Street. The facebook and website design workshops require the participant to bring a laptop. All workshops cost $25. (More detailed information below to the right)
DID YOU KNOW County Medical Center's Living With Cancer Support Group will meet on Wednesday, January 11 from 5:00PM to 6:00PM in the hospital's education centers? For more information call Sally Chestnut at 785-632-2144.
DID YOU KNOW The Clay Center Tiger baseball team will have a fundraiser during the CCCHS home basketball games on Friday, January 13th. The team will serve chili and dessert in the high school commons during the varsity games. Please stop by to support the baseball program!
DID YOU KNOW Pinsetters Bowling Center is starting a 9-WEEK MIDDLE SCHOOL BOWLING LEAGUE! Nothing for your kids to do during the off season? This is the perfect fit. Bowling is something kids can do their whole life and with people of any age and skill level. This league will meet each Tuesday afternoon starting January 9th and go through March 6th (ends before track starts). Youth will get to bowl three games each week. We will try to start at 3:45 and should be done by 5:30 p.m. Eight dollars a week covers your three games and shoe rental. Kids can choose their own teams and we will see who become the best bowlers in the middle school! We will have a cosmic bowling party on the last week and award trophies for various achievements. Youth can sign-up outside the office or call Teia at (785)630-0708 to sign-up or with questions. We will also have an informational meeting at the school prior to the league starting.
DID YOU KNOW Coach Trent is working on baseball teams and schedules for this summer? If you have a son who is between the ages of 13 and 16 (or finished 7th grade through finished 10th grade) who would like to play baseball this year, please let CCCHS Tiger baseball coach Andrew Trent know by January 16th. DID YOU KNOW You can take Facebook 201- Setting up a Business facebook page- January 17th at the Clay County Medical Center from 10:00AM-Noon. You have a personal facebook page and have become fans/liked other businesses. Now you want your own business facebook page but do not kjnow where to start. Cinid will teach you how to create a business page, publish it, and become a fan of your own page. You will also learn h ow to create an engaging business page, set privacy, and upload business information including pictures, logos, and website. You MUST have a personal facebook page to attend this class. Contact the EDG office at 632-5974 to sign up.
DID YOU KNOW Clay County Medical Center's Stroke Support Group will meet on Tuesday, January 17 from 10:00AM – 11:00AM. in the hospital’s education centers. DID YOU KNOW The Clay County Medical Center’s Lunch Bunch will meet on Wednesday, January 18 at noon in the hospital’s education centers. Guest speaker will be Chris Anderson. She will speak on adoption and dealing with the Chinese government. Lunch is $5 and reservations are required by calling the Mark A. Chapman Wellness Center at 785-632-2144, ext. 427.
DID YOU KNOW The Clay County Medical Center will be offering a one-day childbirth education class on Saturday, January 21 from 8:00AM – 5:00PM. in the education centers. This class is free of charge for all CCFP and Special Delivery patients. Any patient not being served by CCFP or Special Delivery will be charged $40. All expecting mothers and support persons are welcomed. This course covers a variety of topics including: signs of labor, stages of labor, breathing and relaxation techniques, pain management, postpartum care, care of infant after delivery and infant CPR. This is a large expo show showing and selling home products/ improvements, health products/improvements, business items, and of course food to purchase.
